East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH)

We are delighted to welcome EACH to the 2015 Game Fair.

EACH and The Nook Appeal will also be this year's Charity Ball beneficiaries.

EACH offer a holistic and family-centred approach to care ensuring that children, young people and their families' needs are met, whether physical, emotional, social or spiritual.

Care can be delivered in the family home, at hospital, in the community, at one of the three EACH hospices, or a combination of all three, depending on the family's and child’s preference.

All care staff are trained and qualified, and include: registered children’s nurses, learning disabilities nurses (with experience of working with children), clinical nurse specialists, a medical director, specialist pharmacist, care assistants, play specialists, music therapists, art therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and counsellors.

The care team liaise with other professionals involved in supporting each child, such as medical consultants, community physiotherapists and schools.

The Nook Appeal:

EACH need a new hospice to meet the demand for their services in Norfolk. Quidenham hospice is one of the oldest in the UK and has been an incredible home-from-home to many families for more than 20 years. However the hospice was converted from an old country house and is extremely restricted in its facilities and development. The demand on services continues to increase and the care for young people over the last decade has become far more complicated – they are rapidly outgrowing the constraints of the building.

EACH have planning permission for a new hospice – The Nook – on a five-acre site in the parish for Framingham Earl, five miles south of Norwich and alongside the communities of Poringland and Framingham Pigot.

If they raise the funds needed, The Nook will be on an idyllic woodland plot, creating a wonderful tranquil setting for children, young people and families. It will also be better positioned in the county, within a thriving local community and won’t be isolated from services, hospitals and road networks.
