The East Anglian Game & Country Fair began in 2004 mainly in response to Traders wishing for a show to exhibit at between Easter and the summer show season.
We had been exhibitors ourselves for many years so had first hand experience of many different types of events. Whilst I was away on the ‘show circuit’, Andy accumulated many years of advertising experience at ‘Yellow Pages’ to add to his current retail experience, before leaving to join the show circuit himself. I wished to make use of my degree in Psychology, by completing a PGCE and teaching at ‘City College Norwich’. All of our experience along with our knowledge of farming from our Norfolk ‘born and bred’ families, and a desire to be more ‘home based’ to start our family led to the game fair being born.
The rest as they say is history….
Euston Hall is steeped in history and provides a beautiful backdrop to the already established events on the Estate. Euston Estate provides a more central location for The East Anglian Game & Country Fair, only 30 minutes from Norwich on the newly dualled A11 near Elveden, with excellent access to Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex. This beautiful venue lends itself to a game and country fair setting, along with offering the opportunity to further evolve and develop the show, with the space and freedom to invite new attractions and events, whilst ensuring that the popular events that we have always enjoyed remain.
Volunteers
We owe an enormous amount of thanks and gratitude to all of our volunteers that make The East Anglian Game & Country Fair happen each year.
Each volunteer brings with them invaluable experience from their places of work and from their charity work for many different causes that they partake in regularly during their free time, many of which benefit directly from the game fair weekend as well.
Some of our volunteers help every year for the duration of the whole weekend, whilst others help for part of the weekend and some opt out for some shows and come back for others, depending on their other commitments.
Each year more and more volunteers ask to be involved in such an exciting show.
Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to get involved and be part of this fantastic local event. We are looking for all kinds of people to do various tasks, from show set up jobs (erecting fencing, signage and safety barriers), marshalling and ticket checking to helping our top chefs in the cookery theatre and making tea & coffee for all our helpers.
The Game & Country Fair offers the chance for you to be part of something rewarding, refreshing and exciting. If you enjoy working as part of a team and look forward to a weekend enjoying the outdoors, then it’s definitely for you!
If you are interested in volunteering at the East Anglian Game & Country Fair then please send your details to info@ukgamefair.co.uk or PO Box 1230, Norwich, Norfolk, NR11 7WW.We look forward to hearing from you and you will be contacted in due course, many thanks!
